Trick or Treat?

This is Halloween…  This is Halloween…

Seems to me that Halloween is not just for kids.  Let’s go to your co-workers’ desk and say “Trick or Treat”!  If you do not get the Treat, you may do the following Trick to his/her Excel setting…

Interestingly, Excel allows user to have some “weird” settings.  Think positively, it is so thoroughly thought that it cares for 0.0000000X % users too.

For a mild “spooky” one, try this:

  1. Go to File Tab (or Ribbon icon in Excel 2007)
  2. Go to Excel Options
  3. Go to Advanced
  4. Look for something like the screenshot below (sorry that Mac is different)

5)   Select UP and then OK.

Now you press ENTER, the cell moves up instead of down… wakaka

Not enough and wanna go further???

Try this one:

  • Go to Excel Option, again
  • Go to Advanced
  • Scroll down to look for the below screenshot (now this is PC version)

  • Check the “Show sheet right-to-left”
  • OK

See, you have just turned your spreadsheet UPSIDE DOWN in a “Transpose” way.  wakakakakakakwakakaka

Feel free to explore different settings under Excel Options.  You will be surprised!

WARNING: If you do these tricks to your boss, take your own risk… 😛
