Kung Hey Fat Choi! This week is Chinese New Year. I wish you a fruitful, healthy, and rewarding Year of Pig!
I have almost one week off for CNY holiday. I have cleaned my PC and spared 50G+ space in the hard drive; got a new fantastic video production and editing tool; and more importantly produced my first Excel video and posted it on YouTube.
Indeed, I have been thinking about the topics for making my first video. There are a few on my list but I could not decide. Then all a sudden when I was having shower one day (yes… many ideas come from 🚿), an idea came to my mind: Why don’t make my first video for my top blogpost – When unhide row doesn’t work…? That’s why we have this video:
I am hosting the video in Cantonese, which is my mother tongue. Why not in English? Because I found there are many many Excel videos in English on YouTube already, but very few videos in Cantonese. Having said that, I know most of my blog readers are coming from non-Chinese regions, and very likely don’t understand Cantonese, that’s why I put English subtitles to the video too. So please make sure you turn on CC when you watch the video if you don’t know Cantonese. 😛
Although it is only an one-minute video, it took me one day to finish. I am still learning and experimenting how to use the software. There are trials and errors, like learning Excel. And I know, this video is far away from good quality. There are lots of room for improvement. Your comments and advice are more than welcome. 🙂
If you like my video, please SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel & SHARE! 🙂 Your generous support (through Like, Thumb Up, Comments, Suggestions, , Subscription, etc.) is the key motivation to run my blog and YouTube channel.
CONGRATS on your first video. Be careful! It took you a day to make this 1-minute video? That’s how it goes. LOL! My videos take 6 to 20 hours and the result is a video around 5 to 7 minutes. But I love it. I hated writing a blog. Even though a blogpost might take 3 hours, I’d rather take 10 hours and make a video.
Are you using Camtasia?

Thank you so much for your sharing, Oz du Soleil. Yes, it took me one day but of course not 24 hours. I started at 2pm and finished before 2am. I went to dinner in between. So the actual working hours should be around 9 hours.
Indeed I spent quite some time in making the Intro and Outro. I think the next one will take me less time as I don’t have to do the Intro and Outro again…
You are right, I am using Camtasia which is awesome and easy to use. I don’t have to read a 100-page menu to create my first video. ;p
I hope I can make one video per week, although it is a bit ambitious to me. Let’s see.
