Did you know that there is Input Message box which look like a comment box?

The main difference is your don’t see any “indicator” on the cell.  The Input Message box pops up when the cell is selected.  To do this, first select the range of cells you wish to have the Input Message, then go to

Data tab –> Data Validation –> Input Message

When a cell with “Input Message” is selected, the relevant message pops up right below the selected cell, which is good and bad.  The good thing is you can hardly miss the message; the bad thing is it blocks the cells underneath.Excel Tips - Move Input Message out of the way 2

No worry.  We can move it to anywhere on the activated worksheet with your mouse.

However, the magic does not last forever… 😛 If you close the workbook and reopen it, all the Input Message Box will appear right under the selected cell as normal.

Is it a bug? or a feature? haha… Good question! 🙂
